I'm going to pull a Marci here...
Dear Routine,
I really miss you. I didn't know how good I had it when you were with me. I loved our daily walks to the bus in the mornings, our trips to the gym, our leisurely grocery shopping.
I didn't mind the chauffeuring of children to dance, art, basketball and school. I was even learning to enjoy the time while James was at class. Consistent laundry days and normal amounts of dishes didn't bother me when you were around.
We had a good thing going, you and me.
Life without you has been difficult. I'm now realizing how much I counted on you to get me through the week. I've really taken you for granted and want you to know I would welcome you back. I need you in my life again.
Yours,
Valerie

Dear Val,
Doesn't it feel better to write that letter? I always feel better when I write these crazy letters. I feel better just knowing that you "pulled a marci" and wrote this letter!
Love, Marci
And do you have an estimate on when your snow will be under control and things can get back to "normal?"
dear val,
i really enjoy writing letters too. it makes all the cyber correspondence seem so much more intimate and old-fashioned. so sorry about all the snow.
love, alisha
