Last week I felt like I actually accomplished something. (Don't faint.) I painted the kitchen during the two days the kids had off school. Sounds a little crazy to wait for them to be home, so that I could juggle not just 2 kids and paint, but the whole lot of 4. But, with no school it meant no set schedule. I could paint at my leisure, eat lunch at 3:00 when the first coat was on, and have Eliza home to help entertain Caroline and Rachel. It ended up working great.
We also did a little room rearranging. I sacrificed my sewing room/toy room for the good of the family...I know, I'm a saint. It required a TON of de-junking of toys and clothes. Being one of just a handful of young families in our ward, we tend to get showered with bags of clothes from people who are cleaning out their kids' closets. In fact, this week, we got 4 bags brought to the house, another bag at church and another stack of workbooks, all from different people. I think I wear a sign that says, "I'm a sucker for used goods. Dump here." LOL... These people are really thoughtful--it just means more sifting through for me this week.
And that's about all I'll be doing this week. On Saturday, I sprained my right ankle...AGAIN!! This makes for 3 times on the same foot. Serious bummer. I was again playing basketball, but this time it didn't even take coming in contact with another person. I was dribbling up the driveway and turned around...that's it. My shoe didn't turn, but my ankle did. It meant for a fun time at Church using the stroller as a walker, and wearing one of James' sandles on my hurt foot. What I have to do to get attention! :)
For those of you with experience in sprains, is it normal for it to feel numb? My foot started tingling last night, and this morning it still feels a little weird. I'm not sure what that means...

sorry about the sprained ankle Val...that's such a pain! I tell you, Peterson's always sprain their ankles! With 3 sprains under your belt, you are officially in the club. I don't have any knowledge about sprains--I have NEVER sprained my ankle (knock on wood).
Good job on painting your kitchen with 4 kids at home...you are much braver than I. I want to paint my kitchen--did you do the whole thing in one day? I hate to have my kitchen a complete mess for too long...
p.s. I love your sink...I wish I had gotten a sink with one side bigger than the other...I'm jealous!
Sorry to hear about your ankle Val - as a person that has "sprained" his ankle many a times, I can tell you I have also had the tingling foot, but can't tell you what it means. All I know is when I went in and had ankle surgery last year the specialist told me my ankle looked like it had been broken before and has taken a beating in its life, which was news to me since I had always thought I just sprained my ankles. Anyways, to make a long story short, I can't tell you anything that might help, so I'll just be quiet now....
can i borrow your sign? i thought that once i had jill, i'd get all the wards "hand-me-downs". i was really excited about it. 1 wk, then 2 wks, now 3 months and nothing! i think it's b/c my ward is all young, growing families all looking for hand-outs! oh-well. we still love our ward.
Yeah...I'm wondering if I've actually broken some bone in my foot. Went in for xrays this morning, so we'll see what the doctor says.
As for the painting, I had set out to do it in one day, and then had to push it into the second. I like painting the kitchen because the actual wall space you have to paint is so much smaller than bedrooms. Now if we can just replace our appliances so that they all match, we'll be looking good! (Don't you wish your kitchen had two-toned appliances?)
Hmm...sorry about the ankle. I'd have Dennis look at it, but that would require you and Caroline hopping on a flight.
As for the backs...just think "TAX DEDUCTIONS!!" on all those bags you don't need! Cha-Ching!!! =)
I'm not a doctor but being an auto claims adjuster I hear about tingling extremeties alot. I think it could be due to lack of circulation or pressure on a nerve due to the swelling in the ankle. Tell me what your doctor says- I want to see if my assessment is accurate ;)
