it's gonna be a great year for AM church

Alright, so I whined last night, but today!!! WOW! We had a great day at church. We switched from church at 1-4pm to the lovely 9-noon. Sure it was a little tough to get up early and get going (we had been able to sleep in), but oh so worth it. We're home and able to relax the rest of the day. Hurray!

So, what made today so great?
  1. The kids were great in sacrament meeting. Caroline slept through the whole thing. Rachel and Eliza played tic-tac-toe. Seth was good...very subdued.
  2. In Junior Primary, THE KIDS ACTUALLY LISTENED! They participated, even learned a new song and didnt' complain. (Even Seth, who can really de-rail my lessons.)
  3. We had the bishopric member visiting Senior Primary, and the kids didn't act out!! They had fun and I didn't have any "solo" singing. (I just hate it when the kids don't sing AT ALL and I end up singing it alone. I am just not cut out for solos.)
  4. I got to bring my new diaper bag to church!! Found it at Old Navy in their clearance section...$5.97. It just doesn't get better than that.
  5. It's January. Period. Sad to say that this year I didn't "cry the day that I took the tree down". I did NOT want the season to last all year round. It was great, but I'm excited to get a fresh start on a new year. It's freeing to not have Christmas stuff hanging over my head.
  6. James got to go to church with us. His office move had gone so well in DC on Friday night and all day Saturday that he was able to come home Saturday night and then stay with us until after sacrament meeting. (He's back to DC now, but the move is really going smoothly.)
  7. And finally...I had leftover pizza for lunch. Didn't have to think of what to make. Just stuck it in the toaster oven and Voila! LUNCH.

It's a little past 2 o'clock and the day is young. I think I'll finish off with a nap, curl up with our book club book and let the kids have their quiet time.

I hope this kind of Sunday lasts!

cute bag!! i have the brown one. i love 9-12 church!!! we have 2:40-5:15. i hate how late it is, but it's only 2.5 hrs b/c of the amount of members. our stake center was just finished and we have three ward buliding in progress. ours should be done early summer. i can't wait for a normal time!!! although, then we'll be back to three hour church :)

Amen! We just switched to 9am church as well. We were going at 1pm. It was TERRIBLE!!!! It was right in the middle of Sam's nap so Sunday night was a headache. Sam would be so cranky because he only napped on Jon's shoulder for half of priesthood! It made me want to jump out the window. It's a good thing we only have a one story house!

This is the year for 9-12 church! I'm loving it because Dennis had meetings from 7:30-10:30 and then I had to play for the choir from 10:30 until church started at 11:30. Made for some crazy mornings! Now we just have EARLY mornings. Very cute diaper bag!!

well.. I would have to say I personally love 1:00 church, well, 11 is my favorite. 9:00 church is by far my least favorite because I like to sleep in atleast once a week. Plus I just don't know what to do all Sunday when I'm done with church so early! We always end up taking naps, and I think I'd rather sleep in then take a nap... but obviously I'm alone in this!

I could not agree more!!! We said goodbye to 2:30-5:30p church, and are hoping we NEVER have to go at that time again! Church was rough last year! This year we have 8:30a church and we are thrilled! Sleeping in is a thing of the past. Morgan is up between 7 and 7:30 anyway. Plus I love to get up and go, be done with it, and have the day to relax!
