no c-section, hopefully

I went in for a follow-up ultrasound yesterday, and things are looking pretty good. The placenta, which had been covering my cervix, has moved up and out of the way for delivery. That's the good news.

The bummer is that this little girl is BIG! She's already estimated at weighing 5 lb. 11 oz. (at 34 weeks) and if she continues to grow a half pound a week, she'll be over 8 1/2 pounds. Larger than I'm used to...no wonder I've had so much pressure. Also, she has a large "noggin" the ultrasound technician said, and she is totally lodged in my pelvis. This all makes sense to me, since each evening I just have to lay down and take the pressure off.

I guess I got the answers that I needed from the visit, but I'm left slightly anxious that this one will come before her due date so that it'll be a smoother delivery.

I'm off to the hospital today to fill out the pre-admittance paperwork...

Welcome to my world!!! Sam weighed 8lbs 7.5 oz two weeks EARLY! I know exactly how you feel. The best thing I did was take a pool class. It was so wonderful to float around in the warm water and feel weightless for an hour. You might check into it if your Dr says ok. I took it at the local therapy center. It was specifically for pregnant ladies. It was fun too because everyone there was going through the same experience. The only downfall was getting out of the pool. Can you say 500 lb. hippopotomus?

The end is near...I bet you can't wait.

How much did your other kids weigh when they were born?

So far, the kids have gotten smaller with each. (That's NOT the normal trend, so maybe I should've expected a bigger one??) Eliza was 7 lb. 12 oz., 4 days past her due date, Seth was 7 lb. 7 oz., 2 days before the due date, and Rachel was 7 lb. 1 oz., 2 days before her due date.

If I went 4 days over this time, we'd be nearing 9 lbs.! I don't like that thought...

just think... It's only the head you've gotta get out, the rest of that 9 pound body slips right out... So as long as it's head isn't growind a half pound per week you should be okay! (just trying to make it sound better then it may be!)
