We can't believe a year has gone by since Carrie joined our family! It has been so wonderful to see how she has brought a sparkle to our days. I have really enjoyed this little sweetheart. The older kids all love to help her--whether it's feeding her or practicing to walk next to her or reading her a story. She has brought us all much joy this year!
Here are some of the moods we caught a glimpse of on Carrie's big day:

PRIDE...it's MY birthday!

JOY...it's great to be alive!

ANTICIPATION...when do I get to eat that cake?

and FEAR...(she does have some of me in her, after all! :)
And other random pictures...including a few taken today to document our doctor's appointment and diagnosis of Chicken Pox. Yep...that's right! Some kids actually DO still get Chicken Pox, and Caroline was one of those lucky ones who got it just under the wire. She was due for the vaccination in just 3 months. But anyway...I had noticed a few spots yesterday, and today when she woke up they had spread all over the side of her head and neck. Now I'm starting to see faint spots on her legs and wrist...oh boy.
Her stats:
Weight: 22 lbs. 4 oz.--75th %
Height: 30.1"--90th %
Head: 47.4 cm--95th %

(And...a note to those of you who have realized my sin of omission here. Yes, it was Eliza's birthday this week also, and since her party is tomorrow, I thought I'd wait and post her birthday highlights after we finish celebrating!)

i love love love the anticipation picture. she is soooo cute. man, i want these girls to know eachother. i can't get over how fast it's gone too. i remember our conversation 1 yr and 10 months ago, before we'd really told anyone. i was soooo excited that we would have babies around the same time. now if we could just live closer.
She is so sweet! Wow, she really looks like Eliza in some of these pics. Happy Birthday to Carrie!
Chicken Pox...that's a disease one hardly thinks about anymore. Has it made her sick at all. Hope she gets over it FAST!
I'm glad you added that last little sentance at the end about Eliza's birthday. I did scroll down past Carrie's birthday to see if there were pics of Eliza's big day.
Carrie is so adorable! I showed these pictures to one of my FHE bros (more like, he was sitting next to me as I was looking at them) and then I showed him the pics of Carrie recharging on the phone charger. She is tooo cute! I can't believe that she is 1 already, I remember our visit there like it was yesterday, guess not though.
I like the fact that she is eating with a fork. Sam will be 2 and still eats with his hands. Yogurt and Cottage Cheese are particularly fun. What a cute girl!
So you know, the book I sent was Sam's absolute FAVORITE at that age.
That's done it! She's one and I haven't even met her! Not only did I miss the adorable baby phase (can you tell me again why you couldn't have just sent her out here to me???) but now I missed a birthday party!! That cake looks frostinglicious. (Which in reality would make me not eat it...but my kids would LOVE it!!!!) Happy Birthday, Carrie!
What a great, fun looking cake! I think I need to recruit you to decorate my cakes, Val. These pictures are such fun to look at.
Chicken Pox?! Oh my...
I'm praying that they'll go quickly...that can't be fun to have on a 1 year old.
On that note: I am astonished she's one. Really it seems imposible that she was born a year ago! I've never met her, so perhaps that's why...the Carrie I know is the "blog" Carrie. :)
But what a sweetie: I love all the "moods" you got of her. She's adorable!
She's a q-t. She's adorableto say the least--be glad that she has the chicken pox now instead of later. Babies usually get just a slight case of them--(I hope) Excited to see Eliza's pics!
