star wars mania

I think it's safe to say that we are SERIOUSLY Star Wars obsessed at our house. James might have started it (I'm not sure) but it has caught on in a huge way with Seth, and surprisingly Eliza and Rachel. I can't even begin to tell you the number of conversations I've overheard about characters' names that I didn't know existed. Star Wars did a smart thing when they combined their movies with Play Station AND Legos. What a winning combination.

What's funny is that Seth has found eBay through it all. Yesterday he told me that someone was selling Bobba Fett ("legos guy", of course...to him the regular figures aren't cool) on eBay without his helmet. He thought it was tragic. Then he asked me what www meant and likened it to Spider-Man's web.

What will we be discovering next?

Your kids are so grown up...I can't believe Seth is browsing ebay. CRAZY! I don't think I had even seen all the star wars movies until Jeff talked me into watching them with him when we were in highschool.

Val, this is kind of off the subject, but Jeff's mom sent a bunch of Jeff's stuff that had been at the house...I found letters(yes letters. we used to write letters--long before email became the norm)...anyway, letters that I had sent him while he was attending UNR , and in one of them I wrote, "I ran in to James the other day and met his girlfriend, she seems really nice!"

It's so weird to think back when you were just his girlfriend... crazy how it seems like a lifetime ago, yet at the same time seems like just yesterday that we were at byu...

That is way too funny! The other day I was talking to Janyse about your freshman ward, and I remembered when Jeff came down from UNR to visit. I remember walking around by the dorms with you two.

It does seem like forever ago. A guy in our ward is heading out on a mission in a week and just came home from his freshman year at BYU. I talked with him last Sunday and he seemed so homesick for the Y. I totally remember coming home during the summers before I was married and just wanting SO badly to get back there. Now it's been 9 years since I graduated! Whoa...what happened?

Oh yeah...I totally remember that! College life was so fun! I wish I could go back in time and soak it all up!
